Welcome!
MaryEllen Locher Foundation® scholarship
fund is a national fund established in 2002 by a mother diagnosed
with Breast Cancer who once worried about her own child's education.
MaryEllen Locher Foundation® provides
scholarships for secondary education especially to children who
have lost a parent to breast cancer and children of breast cancer
survivors.
One in eight women will be diagnosed each year with breast cancer,
and 40% of those diagnosed will die within ten years. The fastest
growing population of breast cancer patients is now women under
forty years of age, many with young children. These children
are the walking wounded; innocent victims in this battle being
fought in the heart of America's families.
This unique scholarship fund is designed to lift the financial
and emotional burdens faced by this growing number of children
in our country.
Our primary goal is to provide scholarships to college students
in the United States through individual donations, corporate sponsorships,
and private grants.

"I have tried to adjust to being the mom of my household. Every
morning I get my 6-year-old sister and 10- year- old brother
ready for school to catch the bus. I have adjusted to putting
others' needs before my own. This is one of the many valuable
characteristics which my mother taught me."
