Girls Just Want to Have Fun Luncheon
We
had a great time at our 2006 Spring "Girls Just Want to Have Fun"
luncheon. The Luncheon took place Sunday April 23 at the Chattanooga
Trade and Convention Center.
Our guest speaker was Ronda Rich - an author whose wit and charm celebrates
the South, its traditions and particularly, its women. Her tone
is reminiscent of the late Lewis Grizzard and Celestine Sibley, who were
both beloved chroniclers of the South. From gracious manners to madcap escapades,
the women she writes about are entertaining, wise and never boring.
Also entertaining us with song was gospel recording artist Angie McGregor
and a special tribute to our Founder MaryEllen Locher was performed by Barbara
and Willie Kitchens.

Applicant's Words:

"I have tried to adjust to being the mom of my household. Every
morning I get my 6-year-old sister and 10- year- old brother
ready for school to catch the bus. I have adjusted to putting
others' needs before my own. This is one of the many valuable
characteristics which my mother taught me." |
